Obsidian 1.12.7 brings faster CLI and editor fixes
Obsidian 1.12.7 is out with a faster CLI binary and a handful of editor bug fixes.
Obsidian released desktop version 1.12.7 today, shipping a notable CLI improvement alongside several editor bug fixes.
The biggest change is under the hood. The Obsidian CLI now ships with a dedicated binary instead of calling the Electron binary directly, resulting in significantly faster terminal interactions. The update also adds autocompletion for Obsidian commands in the terminal interface when using the id= parameter. Note that both CLI improvements require downloading the latest installer from obsidian.md/download.
The editor fixes are worth knowing about:
- Copy and paste without a selection now behaves correctly — copying a line no longer misplaces the cursor, and copying inside a table grabs only the cell contents.
- Pasting a URL while text is selected across multiple cursors now wraps each selection as a proper Markdown link.
- Images inside callouts no longer show unwanted scrollbars in Reading mode.
- Double-clicking an image in Live Preview now correctly resets its size.
The installer has also been updated to Electron v39.8.3.
